Kejriwal hits new low: Televises private talk with PM on Covid-19; made to apologize

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal touched a new low when he televised live what was a closed-door conversation between the prime minister Narendra Modi and 10 chief ministers.

The prime minister had called upon the urgent interaction as India touched a record 3.32 lakh Covid-positive cases and 2,263 deaths in the last 24 hours.

As per Megha Prasad of Times Now, Kejriwal underestimated Modi in this cheap shot at publicity for the prime minister told him: “You have broken a very important protocol, such private conversations are never televised.”

Tweeted Prasad: “Arvind Kejriwal froze in his seat once he realised that the PM has got to know, and with folded hands apologised to the PM.”

It was a complete breach of trust and protocol by Arvind Kejriwal. “No chief minister has ever done this ever! Kejriwal goes live from inside the PM-CM meeting, without any prior knowledge about this to the PMO or the PM himself!”.

In what had become public by then, Kejriwal was at his theatrical best: “There’s a huge shortage of oxygen in Delhi. Will people of Delhi not get oxygen if there is no oxygen-producing plant here? Please suggest whom should I speak to in Central govt when an oxygen tanker destined for Delhi is stopped in another state,” he is quoted to have said.

Kejriwal urged Modi to airlift the oxygen from West Bengal and Odisha to resolve the shortage, hoodwinking what is general knowledge that it’s being already done, besides Railways which is running Oxygen (RoRo) trains.

The sources within the Centre were naturally upset and accused Kejriwal of “descending to a new low” in televising what was not meant to be. Prime Minister Modi pointed it out and Kejriwal had to apologize.

“For the first time, private conversations of PMs meeting with CM is being televised. His entire speech was not meant for any solution but for playing politics and evading responsibility,” said the sources as per NDTV.

They also accused the Delhi chief minister of “yawning and laughing”” during a previous meeting on Covid with PM Modi. (image below)

What is in public domain but what’s not being brought to attention by Lutyens Media, forget the Delhi chief minister himself, are these known facts:

  1. Centre has ensured DRDO facility with 500 ICU beds, funded from PM Cares Fund at Sardar Patel Covid Hospital in Delhi Can’t;
  2. 250 beds are already operational and another 250 is due to be added in next 24 hours;
  3. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has made public that the beds capacity in various Central Government hospitals in Delhi have been increased to 3623, including 480 ICU beds (in all 4159 beds, 730 ICU beds);
  4. On the matter of oxygen, per day allocation to NCT of Delhi is now 480 MT from 378 MT;

Social Media has a tweet from BJP’s IT Cell Amit Malviya which is a commentary on state of affairs in Delhi at the moment. It shares the news that oxygen plants are being set up in villages of Gujarat. Malviya tweets: “Oxygen plants are being set up in villages of Gujarat while Arvind Kejriwal keeps crying on twitter!

Does Delhi want such a helpless Chief Minister?
