Modi visits Sis Ganj Gurudwara on 400th Prakash Purab of Guru Teg Bahadur

On the historic occasion of 400th Parkash Purab of Guru Tegh Bahadur, prime minister Narendra Modi visited Sis Ganj Gurudwara in Delhi and offered his prayers amid the crisis of coronavirus.

PM Modi tweeted from his handle about his visit. Officials said PM Modi visited Sis Ganj Gurudwara without any special security arrangements.

“On the special occasion of his 400th Parkash Purab, I bow to Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. He is widely respected globally for his courage and his efforts to serve the downtrodden. He refused to bow to tyranny and injustice. His supreme sacrifice gives strength and motivation to many.”

Considering the ever increasing cases, the Capt. Amarinder Singh-led Punjab government had decided to hold virtual celebrations for  400th Prakash Purab from 28 April.

“Online kirtans will be organized by the government on television and social media channels, with people being urged to offer ardas for ‘sarbat da bhala’ ( blessings for everyone) from their homes on May 1,” the CM said.
