Modi: Where are critics who mocked “taali thalli” initiative

On the occasion of arguably his most significant achievement—100 crore doses of vaccination to citizens—prime minister Narendra Modi took on his critics who were lampooning if “taali thalli will help eradicate the virus.”

Addressing the nation, Modi said: “100 crore vaccine jabs is just not a number. It is the reflection of the capacity of this country, this is a new chapter of the country, a country that knows how to achieve huge targets.”

“This success reflects the important place of technology that not even big nations have today,” said Modi “India’s critics have been silenced.”

“…everyone questioned whether India will be able to do the needful. 100 crore vaccine jabs is an answer to all the questions.”

Modi said that the “VIP culture” was not allowed at all in the nation’s vaccination drive.

Some 1.3 billion people of India—some three-quarters of adults in the country—have had at least one shot of vaccine. Some 30 percent are fully vaccinated as per the government figures.

The prime minister also said along with the vaccine coverage, the economy of the nation is also recovering and there is “optimism everywhere.”

“Experts are very positive about the Indian economy. There is employment for the young but there are also unicorns will record capital. From Gati Shakti to new drone rules, the economy will get a boost,” he said.

Modi insisted on masks for all citizens. “Like we wear shoes, we should make it a habit of wearing masks,” he said.
