Owaisi calls Congress ‘impotent’ who partner Shiv Sena and claim to be secularists

Asaduddin Owaisi, president of the AIMIM, termed Congress “impotent” after the latter’s spokesperson Pawan Khera tried to rile him with radicalization of Muslims in the wake of recent Bihar assembly elections.

“I am being accused of radicalizing. It shows the intellectual dishonesty of the Congress spokesperson.

“Your party contestants said that they will break the arms and legs of AIMIM, is this not radicalizing?” retorted Owaisi on a TV debate last evening.

Owaisi called out the Congress party for their hypocrisy and deceitful behaviour.

“It’s a a joke to say radicalization is happening because of me. Who opened the Babri structure locks? Who did the ground-breaking (Ram Lala) ceremony? Rajiv Gandhi was the prime minister then. Who demolished the Babri structure? Who was the prime minister then? Didn’t that lead to radicalization.”

Khera was of the opinion that if Hindus were being radicalized by BJP, the AIMIM was doing the same with Muslims. He further said that Owaisi was strengthening the communal forces in the country by helping the BJP and its alliances to gain power in the elections.

Who is partnering Shiv Sena in Maharashtra? What kind of commitment to secularism is this, shot back Owaisi.

“Congress and its leadership are politically impotent to take on the Modi government…we will tell the people who have been wrongly told that secularism can be kept alive only with Congress, it can be kept alive with other parties also,” Owaisi said.

In recent Bihar assembly elections, Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM party contested elections on 20 seats and won 5 out of them.
