Sixtyone conflicts are on in our world. One person in seven is displaced. Ethnic cleansing in Gaza, millions dead in Ukraine – nothing seems to stir us. Nuked tomorrow? So be it. All desensitized.
Now our momentary thrill is a gunman gunning for Trump. By now everyone knows he had a stint with NASA, was an award-winning teacher and an engineer who was once interviewed on national television in the United States. Do you know those two who previously made a similar attempts on Trump had also appeared on commercials? Both those commercials were for BlackRock. All three are fun facts – nobody is keen to investigate if it’s a code and should engage us at a deeper level. I mean how many make it to commercials?
Smart ones could reel off all those sitting US presidents who unlike Trump – thus far, that is —fell to bullets: Abraham Lincoln (1865), James A. Garfield (1881), William McKinley (1901) and John F. Kennedy (1963). Some survived, like Woodrow Wilson and Ronald Reagan, and lesson learnt, quickly fell in line. Wilson, who was dithering on creation of Federal Reserve in 1913; Reagan, in 1981, for he was wanting to peg dollar again to gold which had been done away by Richard Nixon in 1971.
None of us initially were able to wrap our heads around an X (twitter) account (@HenryMa79561893) who posted just one tweet of two words in 2023: Cole Allen. The very name who three years later has now made a bid on Trump. The banner of this account is a digitised image of bullet hitting Trump during his presidential campaign in Pennsylvania in 2024. This X account with zero followers and zero following and with just one tweet is now nearing 100 million views. Cheap thrill again: Who is this guy who knew what was coming three years in advance? Who was in this time-travel capsule? A bit of common sense and one could second-guess this was an account of Cole Allen himself.

Everyone has heard of “Deep State.” Very few can explain. Media offers no clue. And that’s because media itself is one of its organs. Look for Church Committee of 1975 on wikipedia. It was exposed that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was virtually owning US media. This project was named “Operation Mockingbird.”
It also came out that the CIA had infiltrated big media houses such as the New York Times, CBS and Time. They had their paid insiders and blind covers implanted. Dozens of US journalists and media houses were planting stories at CIA’s behest. The confession came from then CIA chief William Colby himself. In 1950s, CIA director Allen Dulles controlled 25 newspapers and wire agencies.
All of us have heard of Bob Woodward. The one who teamed up with Carl Bernstein and brought Richard Nixon down with “Watergate Scandal” expose in 1972. Woodward had joined Washington Post only a few months ago. His past experience in journalism? Zilch. In fact, prior to journalism, he was a naval officer with the US Navy. He was plucked and planted in Washington Post: Just a conduit and not the God of investigating reporting as revered today.
In many ways, the word “mainstream media” is a misnomer. They never “mainstream” a news which could hurt the entrenched cabal. You would never read that Khamanei Jr (Mojtaba) has a real estate empire in London — screw the sanctions; media has wiped clean that Barack Obama sent planeload of dollars to Tehran while negotiating JCPOA; Zelensky’s corruption might be a common knowledge but is never in print etc, etc.
Investigating journalism died ages ago. All you now have are inserted operatives. Those who dare to expose are either killed or co-opted. Those who go on their own steam are just voices in wilderness. Penury is their fate.
It was hilarious to watch journalists pick up wine bottles after the gala dinner with Trump was scuttled due to Cole Allen’s bid. Imagine being in the midst of a potentially world-altering incident and all you have on mind is to pick up wine bottles on the take! The least favour one could do to oneself is trusting them with honest reportage. Those with conscience certainly never get bylines on front page.
